I have just moved my drupal to a new hosting server. I have also updated the settings.php file and made sure that its pointing to the right database but the site is showing error 404

Firstly check if you have an .htaccess file.
Then make sure you have configured the settings file of your drupal installation accordingly, like database name, username etc2x.

navigate to: root / sites / default / settings.php
